In a bleak future where humanity is oppressed by an army of mutants and forced to live underground, a young orphan unearths a powerful robot. Together with a boisterous man named Kamina, a beautiful sharpshooter named Yoko and many other friends, they use the robots power to fight against their oppressors and take back the surface.

In un lontanissimo futuro l'umanità è ridotta a vivere in villaggi sotterranei senza alcun contatto con il mondo in superficie né tantomeno con gli altri villaggi. Simon è un orfano che vive in uno di questi agglomerati, il villaggio di Jiiha, ed è uno scavatore: dato che la società si sviluppa esclusivamente nel sottosuolo, gli scavatori hanno un ruolo molto importante, e Simon è uno dei migliori; però non viene benvoluto dai suoi pari....
